Meeting – 12/5/2003 Minutes
Chairman Welch called the meeting to order at 11:00 am. Sec. Fulton took the roll. Present was
Comm. Welch; Comm. Camardo and Comm. Brennan.
Approve the minutes of the meeting held on 11/6/03. Motion to accept made by Comm. Camardo, seconded by Comm. Brennan. Motion carried 3-0.
Approve the minutes of the special meeting held on 11/13/03. Note made by Comm. Camardo to add that Comm. Camardo votes not to cancel the Police Chief exam as it has been the policy of this Commission to hold an exam and establish a list for every expired list. Motion to accept made by Comm. Brennan with such an addition noted, motion seconded by Comm. Camardo Welch. Motion carried 3-0.
New Business
1. City Clerk Dept.
Review the roster and establish an eligibility list for the open competitive exam # 61-924 Registrar of Vital Statistics. Motion to establish the list made by Comm. Camardo and seconded by Comm. Welch. Motion carried 3-0.
2. Municipal Utilities Dept.
Review the roster and establish an eligibility list for the open competitive exam, # 61-812 Weigh Scale Operator. Motion to establish list made by Comm. Brennan, seconded by Comm. Camardo. Motion carried 3-0.
3. Police Dept.
Review the roster and establish an eligibility list for the promotional exam # 74-969 Police Captain . Motion to establish the list made by Comm. Camardo, seconded by Comm. Brennan. Motion carried 3-0.
Old Business Police Department
Discussion continued about the upcoming Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief exams. Discussion concerned the possibly of holding an open competitive with the promotional, or just open or just promotional. Special meeting set for November 13, 2003 with City Manager and Police Chief to continue this discussion.
Old Business
Memo from the City Manager received requesting that the position of Bruce Ross and his title be tabled and discussed at next meeting. Such discussion tabled and a memo to be sent to the City Manager requesting the necessary paperwork be submitted to this Commission for review no later than Dec. 24, 2003.
