CEMETERY COMMISSION
MEEING MINUTES
December 6, 2005
Members Present: Elaine Hudson, Fort Hill Cemetery; Jerry DelFavero, Superintendent of Public Works; Debby McCormick, City Clerk; Kent Brandstetter, John Langham, Langham Funeral Home.
Absent: John Salomone, City Manager; Bill Jacobs, City Councilor, Ted Wills.
The Commission discussed asking Council to add one more to the number of positions on the commission. Councilor Jacob’s term as Councilor ends in January and his seat as a member of Council will be filled with someone from Council. He would like to fill the added seat if Council approves. All were in agreement and Corporation Counsel will be asked to present a resolution to Council in January to add a seat and appoint new members.
Jerry DelFavero briefly discussed the visit to the Crematory in Rochester that several board members attended. The possibility of Auburn providing this service was discussed. At this time it was felt that the volume of business would not cover the operating expense of a crematory. More discussion may follow.
Jerry will get an inventory of Soule Cemetery lots to be sent with the minutes. Debby will get a copy of the rates and include them as well.
The next commission meeting will be held on Tuesday February 7th at 3PM in the City Manager’s Office.
