Meeting Minutes
February 26, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Selectman Michael Genest in the Little Town Hall.

Members Present: John Robertson, Michael Genest, Robert Edwards
Others Present: Andrew Kellar -New Hampshire Solar Garden, Rich Cahoon-School Board

Agenda Items:
  • Mr. Robertson moved to approve the minutes of February 12, 2018.  Mr. Edwards seconded.  Passed 3/0.
  • Mr. Kellar informed the Board of Selectmen (BOS) that the solar array that was to go on land at the water & sewer department will not proceed. Two major factors were the cuts to the State of New Hampshire rebate program and the wetlands that were discovered on the property. Mr. Kellar suggested as an alternative the town could have solar panels on the roof of one of the town buildings. Mr. Edwards asked if the town should be looking at larger projects. Mr. Kellar said that could be a possibility if town land was available. Mr. Kellar and Ms. Hanson will look at what town buildings and land would be appropriate for this type of project, if the BOS decide to proceed.
  • Mr. Cahoon gave an overview of the ConVal School budget. There is an increase in the operating budget and a decrease in the estimated revenues. Mr. Cahoon advised the BOS that he recommends a NO vote on warrant article 3 and a yes vote on warrant article 4. The budget and warrant articles are attached.
  • Mr. Edwards moved to recommend the ConVal School budget. Mr. Robertson seconded. Mr. Genest abstained. Passed 2/0, 1 abstention
  • Mr. Edward moved to recommend Thomas Beaumont as Deputy Fire Marshall. Mr. Genest seconded. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Edwards moved to approve three All Veterans Credit applications. Mr. Robertson seconded. Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Edwards stated that he would not be able to attend the Planning Board meeting on Thursday, March 1, 2018. By consensus, the BOS will have Mr. Robertson attend.
Other Business:
  • Ms. Hanson informed the BOS that the town of Stoddard will not continue using ambulance service from the town of Antrim as of July, 2018.
  • Mr. Edwards moved to go into non-public RSA 91-A:3 (b) hiring.
  • Mr. Edwards moved to hire Mr. Donald Gladu on the fire department. Mr. Robertson seconded. Passed 3/0
  • After no further business Mr. Genest moved to adjourn at 9:00 PM. Mr. Edwards seconded. Passed 3/0
