Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Selectman Gordon Webber in the Little Town Hall.

Members Present: Gordon Webber, Michael Genest, John Robertson
Staff present:  Donna Hanson (Town Administrator)

Agenda Items:
  • Mr. Genest moved to approve the Board of Selectmen (BOS) minutes of January 4, 2016; Mr. Robertson seconded.  Passed 3/0 Mr. Webber moved to approve the Board of Selectmen Non-Public minutes of January 4, 2016. Mr. Robertson seconded Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Robertson moved to approve the Board of Selectmen (BOS) minutes of January 11, 2016; Mr. Webber seconded.  Passed 3/0
  • Reviewed Preliminary Budget.
  • Mr. Webber will write a draft statement for the Site Evaluation Committee (SEC) public hearing on February 22. 2016. Mr. Webber is also in the process of drafting the Selectmen’s report for the Town report/Limrik article.
Other Business:
  • Mr. Webber attended a meeting hosted by HOPE (Antrim’s substance misuse and prevention committee) at the Teen Center. Mr. Webber would like to meet with Chief Lester to discuss alternative ways to help people in the community with substance abuse problems. One suggestion was to reach out to the town of Gloucester, MA to learn more about their program, Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative (PAAR) This program has received positive press for their success they are having in their community.
  • Mr. Robertson informed the board that he was asked to write an article for the Limrik on renewable energy. He was asked as a resident of New Hampshire and not a member of the Board of Selectmen; therefore, his views do not necessarily represent that of the board.
  • The Department of Transportation (DOT) has concerns about the increased traffic at RT. 202/Rt. 31 in Antrim that may exist if the proposed 160,000 foot superstore in Hillsborough is built. The DOT has asked the developers of the project to do a traffic impact study at the intersection. When the study is completed  DOT will give the town solutions if they feel a problem may exist. The town would not be responsible for any work or changes that the DOT proposes.   
  • Mr. Robertson moved to go into non-public session under RSA 91-A:3 II (c) tax abatement. MrWebber seconded.  Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Robertson moved to come out of non-public session under RSA 91-A:3 (c) tax abatement. Mr. Webber seconded. Passed 3/0
  • After no further business Mr. Robertson moved to adjourn. Seconded by Mr. Webber. Passed 3/0
