Meeting Minutes
July 21, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Genest

Members Present:        Mr. Genest, Mr. Webber, Mr. Robertson
Staff present:    Galen Stearns (Town Administrator)

  • Mr. Webber motioned to approve the BOS minutes of June 23, 2014, Mr. Robertson 2nd.  Passed 3/0
  • Mr. Webber motioned to approve the Non-public BOS minutes of June 23, 2014, Mr. Robertson 2nd.  Passed 3/0
  • The Selectmen continued the discussion concerning the School St. & West St. intersection from last meeting.  The Highway Department has cleared all the brush along the side of West Street next to Shea Field which improved the sight distance considerably.  Mr. Genest motioned to install a flashing STOP sign to be programed to be activated during the appropriate times for the school crossings with a sign before stating “STOP when flashing” and a stop line across half of West Street, Mr. Robertson 2nd, passed 3/0
  • The board continued it’s discussion of ARTS fees from last meeting.  Mr. Webber motioned to approve the existing fees schedule summarized by Mr. Stearns, Mr. Robertson 2nd, passed 3/0

  • Mr. Stearns presented the bids for heating oil:

Mr. Webber motioned to award the bid to Rymes Heating Oil for $3.339 per gallon, Mr. Robertson 2nd, passed 3/0
  • Mr. Stearns presented the board with draft ordinances for the Town Beach/Parks/Boat launch and Alcohol for review and for discussion at the next meeting.
  • Mr. Webber motioned to appoint Diane Chauncey as Antrim’s commissioner to South West Regional Planning Commission, Mr. Genest 2nd, passed 3/0
  • Mr. Robertson mentioned that the gym agreement states that the school use starts in September but that school actually starts in August and the agreement should state at the start of the school year.
  • Mr. Genest mentioned that Robblee Tree Service has donated their time and equipment to plant the new tree at the Police Department and the  Highway Department has reset Chief Buster Brooks’ memorial stone and would like to send a thank you note to Mr. Robblee for his donation.
  • There being no further business, Mr. Webber motioned to adjourn, Mr. Robertson 2nd.  Passed 3/0.  Meeting adjourned at 7:26 PM
