Selectmen Meeting Minutes –July 25, 2005
Present: M. Genest, R. Haggett, and B. Pratt
Also in attendance: W. Prokop, S. Chatfield, L. Henderson, M. Morrow, J. Soullier
The selectmen opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M.
The selectmen approved the minutes of the June 20, 2005 meeting.
The selectmen were told that the perambulation with Deering took place on Thursday, July 21. Mr. Pratt and Mr. Prokop represented Antrim and Ms. Johnson and Mr. Ohlson represented Deering.
The selectmen reviewed and discussed the up-date on the downtown projects. (see list attached)
The selectmen reviewed the “Draft” report from DRA regarding Antrim Assessment Practices. The board accepted the draft and responded to Mr. LaBlond of the DRA
accordingly
The selectmen were informed by W. Prokop that the TIF committee was submitting an application for a TE Grant for phase II of the Downtown renovations. This competitive grant is for 2007 Federal Highway dollars.
The selectmen approved a letter to Southwest Region Planning Board requesting consideration of Antrim in awarding “Access Management” grants for the region.
The selectmen expressed sincere thanks to Bob Varnum, our Road Agent, for obtaining a $29,000 FEMA-Snow emergency grants for the snow storms that we had in January and February of this year. This money will be used to offset our winter cost.
The selectmen were up dated on the quotations that were received for heating oil and other fuels. J.B. Vaillancourt has been awarded the heating oil and Rymes will maintain the propane and other fuels.
The selectmen will host the “swearing in” ceremony for Chief Feyrer and officer Niles on Friday, July 29th at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall.
The selectmen reviewed general correspondence and approved payroll and A/P for the week.
