Selectmen Meeting Minutes –March 14, 2005


Present: M. Genest, R. Haggett, and B. Pratt
Also in attendance: W. Prokop.

The selectmen opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M.

The selectmen approved the minutes of the March 7th meeting.

The selectmen nominated and voted to appoint Michael Genest as Chairman for the next year.

The selectmen discussed the status of the Police Chief search, and the new search for a police officer to replace Nick Weeks who will be leaving the end of this month.

The selectmen voted to have the members of the Recreation Land Search committee become the basis for the new Gould Property Field Development Committee. The purpose and focus of this committee will be to plan the development of the Gould Property in to the recreational and conservation requirements of the Town. They will make recommendations to the Board of Selectmen who are responsible the expenditure of all funds for the project. This committee will complete its work on or before December 31, 2007. The committee will hold Public Meetings and will be asked to seek additional members as they see fit and to coordinate all activities through the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Ron Haggett will be the board’s representative for this committee.

The selectmen agreed to study the Bryers Lane road and utility problems at the end of April or early May. The Board will seek borings, testing, and competitive bids, to perform any work that will be planned. The bidders will be required to perform to the specifications that will be provided. The board will then be in a position the develop a plan as to how to proceed with the project.

The selectmen are planning on doing the perambulation walk of the town line with Deering in May.

The selectmen will have further meetings with the Water and Sewer commissioners and the “Mapping Consultants” regarding our Town requirements for the up-dating of our land and utility maps.

The selectmen discussed the upcoming Hazardous Waste Day that we will be participating in with Hillsborough on April 9th at the Hillsborough Recycling Center. All Antrim residents are encouraged to use this day to dispose of their hazardous waste.

The selectmen reviewed the various Town committees and will ask the various chairs to recommend new members to the Board for appointment.
                                                                                              The selectmen then reviewed various correspondences and signed the payroll and accounts payable for the week.

The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
